DIY: HAND SANITIZER AND WIPES


Hand Sanitizer

 

What you need:


  • 3/4 cup Isopropyl or rubbing alcohol (99% alc. volume)

  • 1/4 cup aloe vera gel

  • 10 drops essential oil or lemon juice (optional)


Instructions:


  1. Pour ingredients into a bowl and mix with a spoon

  2. Whisk until the mixture becomes gel-like

  3. Pour into empty bottle



Sanitizing Wipes

 

What you need:


  • 2 cups Isopropyl or rubbing alcohol (99% alc. volume)

  • 2 cups distilled water

  • 2-3 tbsp Dawn dish soap

  • 3 drops essential oil (optional)

  • 10 washcloths/rags - OR - 1 paper towel roll


Instructions:


If using re-usable cloth:

  1. Put pieces of cloth in a large jar (or sealable container)

  2. Mix water, dish soap, and alcohol together in a pitcher or bowl

  3. Pour mixture into the container

  4. Make sure the container is sealed, so your wipes don't dry out

  5. When you run out, just wash the wipes and re-use them


If using paper towel:

  1. Cut paper towel roll in half using a serrated knife

  2. Put each half into a jar or old lysol/clorox container

  3. Mix water, dish soap, and alcohol together in a pitcher or bowl

  4. Pour mixture around edges of paper towels

  5. Let soak for 2 minutes

  6. Pull cardboard roll out from center of paper towels, so that you can pull towels from the middle

  7. Make sure to store with a lid, so they don't dry out
