IMPACT Community Action

Who We Are: IMPACT Community Action is one of 48 Community Action Agencies in Ohio and more than 1,100 nationally that is on the front line in the War on Poverty. Our mission is “to fight poverty by providing hope-inspiring help and real opportunities for self-sufficiency.” Since 2008, we have fulfilled this mission though direct assistance to low-income residents in Columbus and Franklin County, with a focus on our community’s most vulnerable, seniors, families, restored citizens, individuals with that are unemployed or underemployed. To the extent our resources allow, no one is turned away who meets the agency’s criteria for assistance. We have a commitment to serve and a promise to uphold.

What We Do: IMPACT Community Action provides crisis support and comprehensive case management to low-income residents and poverty-stricken communities. IMPACT supports communities by working collectively with private and public agencies and organizations to provide constructive results in policy implementation and program development for underserved neighborhoods in Franklin County.

Why We’re Important: Community Action agencies are critical to the growth and progress of society because it promotes self-sufficiency, not dependency. Self-sufficiency includes effectively advocating for stakeholders who we believe are everyday citizens of the community in all parts of government and ensuring accessibility to services and resources such as emergency housing stability services; like rental assistance, youth and adult workforce development training, and energy efficiency programs to those from traditionally low resource areas.

How We Impact The Community: We impact the community by being the go-to agency for fighting poverty in Franklin County. We provide wrap around services for individuals and families looking to increase their economic mobility.
